I am raped...

I am Raped!!!
The “recent” rape had “again” outraged the whole nation. This time the victim is different, the case is different, the culprits are different but the anguish is same “again”. Newspapers showing stats of various cities such as our capital ‘Delhi’ and the stats are quite “satisfying”, rapes have been reduced. And all of a sudden the most threatened city is now the “software City”, “the air conditioned City” of India. Some stats that came just after the “recent rape” were like this, 8 rape cases in a single day, six-year-old raped in “the School”, “nun” raped, two-year-old raped by a sixty-year-old man and many more.
Now the conversations, discussions and arguments that came across me were of very different kind.
The Politician leader camouflaged this heinous act by comparing the number of rapes that were committed in the reign of previous government and the present government. And one statement was like, ‘there are 21 CR people in our state yet there are very less criminal activities here.’
People started categorizing the rapes into “worse than”, “worst”, “shouldn’t have done like this”, “shouldn’t have done to her, she was just two-year-old.”
People started compromising and arguing on their refuge, consoling themselves by statements like, “this kind of rape don’t happen in Delhi, at least children are spared.” Hence, Delhi is safer. “Thank God, the child is raped. “Nirbhaya” case did not happen in Bangalore.” Hence, Bangalore is safer to live.
And from this come various statements such as, north India is not safe for girls in night and south India is safer or north India is totally unsafe.
Sorry but I will start from the very beginning of this article.
Why our outrage is impulsive and why it doesn’t create any long lasting impact? Why we get a wakeup call only when something is done to someone? And this point is very much known to our government and the paid media. They know, public will shout for few days and then will be busy again in their daily routine and forget about the incident but the pain. What about the pain, the torment that the victim has gone. That pain remains the same for her and for us also. That is the reason we are out there on roads protesting and demanding justice for her.
The Politician will be giving some weird excuses and then making some laws to stop rape and strong punishment for the one who commit rape. And in these laws there will be restrictions to girls like, she should not wear short dress, no hanging out after 9 pm and many more. But let me ask you one thing, was that girl who is six-year-old wearing any skimpy cloth, was hanging out after 9 pm or was she at any other place that is not considered good for school? No, she was in the school, fully dressed with no body parts being shown and that too in the school hours. Then tell me why rapes are committed?
We don’t need laws or rule to protect ourselves from being raped but need to change the mentality of the public and of the people who are being selected by us and are sitting on our head and playing with our lives.
Why they are just giving excuses and that too like, “In our state the ratio of population is to rapes is less than the other state.”

People should stop “adjustment” by consoling themselves by comparing states and the type of rapes. They should step out and protest in such a manner that it lasts forever because who knows the next victim lies near to or you. Because whenever there is rape the victim is not raped but we all are raped, I am raped.
